How the swimming system is structured
The Swimmigo swimming system is built in 7 levels, from water habituation to advanced swimming. Each level builds on the previous one and contains a set of skills that your child masters step by step. The instructor ticks per exercise whether a skill is already mastered, being worked on or still needs practice. That way, as a parent you always see exactly where your child stands and what the next step is. In total, the system covers 86 skills across the 7 levels.
Red
In the Red level, your child gets used to the water. They learn to keep their face in the water, blow bubbles and the basic safety rules around the pool. This is the start of the swimming journey.
Green
In the Green level, your child learns to float on their stomach and back, and builds up endurance. Everything revolves around relaxing in the water and gaining confidence in their own body.
Blue
In the Blue level, the first stroke techniques take center stage. Your child learns to combine the leg and arm movements with the correct breathing, so a recognizable swimming stroke emerges.
Yellow
In the Yellow level, your child refines the stroke technique and builds further endurance. The distances become longer and the technique more precise.
Bronze
The Bronze level is a milestone: your child combines stroke technique with endurance and swims with more independence and control over their breathing.
Silver
In the Silver level, your child improves their technique further and swims longer distances. Confidence in the water grows with every lesson.
Gold
The Gold level is the highest level. Your child fully masters the stroke technique, swims longer distances and can save themselves in unexpected situations.
Your own levels for your school
Swim schools can also set their own levels and exercises, in their own language. That way the app follows your own teaching method.
Frequently asked questions about the levels
Are the Swimmigo levels the same as the official swimming diploma?
No. The 7 Swimmigo levels (Red to Gold) are the app's student tracking system for following your child's or student's progress. They are separate from official swimming diplomas.
Can a swim school use its own levels?
Yes. Swim schools can set their own levels and exercises, in their own language. When a parent links with the school, those exercises are applied automatically in the app.
How do I know when my child is ready for the next level?
In the app you see the progress per level and per exercise. Once your child masters all the skills of a level, you can start the next level. You get a notification in the app.
