Swimming Lessons FAQ
Find answers to all your questions about swimming lessons, the Swimmigo app, and how to manage progress as a swim school or parent.
General
Privacy is paramount. Your profile and progress are only visible to you (and possibly an instructor invited by you or the linked swim school).
The Swimmigo subscription is what swim schools and instructors pay to use the app: student tracking, communication and the marketing toolkit. Lesson payments are separate: schools can optionally offer lesson packages and subscriptions that parents buy through the app. Parents only pay for swimming lessons, never for the app itself.
The swimming lessons are offered and provided by the swim school or instructor. Swimmigo is the platform on which the school manages its lessons, progress and payments. Swimmigo does not provide swimming lessons itself. Questions about lessons, scheduling or refunds should be directed to the school.
Three parties work together for payments. Swimmigo provides the app and the connection between parent and school, and does not store any card details itself. Stripe processes the payments, stores the payment data securely (PCI-DSS certified) and handles payouts and financial reporting (stripe.com/privacy, stripe.com/legal/privacy-center, stripe.com/docs/security). Your swim school provides the lessons, the subscriptions and its own terms.
The Swimmigo app works on your iPhone, Android phone and tablet. There is no desktop version; Swimmigo is intentionally made for mobile swim schools that don't want to be tied to a fixed checkout system or computer. That way you adjust everything anywhere, at any moment.
Parents
Swimmigo is an app with which parents track their child's swimming lesson progress. With 7 levels, 86 skills and gamification, you always have insight into progress.
The app is completely free for parents and swimmers. Swim schools and instructors start free and try the demo without limits; once their first student becomes active, they choose Solo or School, with a 30-day free trial.
Yes! You can use the app completely independently. You determine the pace and location.
Only if your swim school has enabled the payment option. If your school doesn't offer it, you simply use the app for free for progress and self-practice.
Yes, you can easily add multiple children in one account. Each child gets their own profile and progress.
The app shows exactly per level which exercises your child still needs to master. This way you turn every swimming day into a targeted session.
With the free Watch Along feature, family members can follow swimming progress live via a simple shared link and give a high five, without having to create an account.
Yes! You can share a link that allows grandpa, grandma, or other family members to instantly see the achieved skills.
Yes. If your swim school offers lesson packages through the app, you can buy directly in the app and pay with iDEAL, credit card or PayPal. Your receipt and subscription status are in the app.
That depends on your swim school. Schools set their own lesson packages: one-time or as a subscription, with their own rate. In the app you always see the current amount and the terms of your school.
Tap 'Cancel subscription' in the app. The swim school receives your request and confirms; your subscription ends after the paid period.
That depends on the terms of your swim school. Every school sets its own terms, which you see in the app before purchasing. Questions about refunds should be directed to the school.
You will receive a friendly reminder in the app. The swim school sees the payment status and will contact you to resolve it together.
Your swim school plans the move and you get a message to confirm the new time. You accept the proposed time or choose another. If nothing fits, you request a different time from the instructor.
Yes. Your own progress in the Swimmigo curriculum always stays in your account, even if you switch schools or stop temporarily. If a school uses its own teaching method, that score belongs to that school and does not automatically carry over.
Swim Schools
You can easily add students via the dashboard in the app. You fill in the name and the app generates a unique code with which parents can link.
Certainly. You can add multiple instructors per swim school who all have access to the same student lists and schedules. For a team of multiple instructors, choose the School subscription.
You start free and try the demo without limits, with no payment step. Once your first real student becomes active, you choose Solo (for you alone) or School (for your team). Prices follow the App Store and Google Play, and you get a 30-day free trial from the moment you subscribe.
In minutes. You choose how often per week, which days and how long the course runs. From a fixed weekly lesson to a two-week speed course or a ten-week turbo course.
You create your own payment models and set them up however you like: lesson card, ongoing subscription, course or your own variant. One system, your earning model.
Yes. You download the app for free and try the demo without limits: create groups, invite colleagues and set up multiple schools โ with no payment step. Only once your first real student becomes active do you choose Solo or School, with a 30-day free trial.
Yes. You see what you earn per group, so you know exactly which groups are profitable.
In the app you will find ready-made templates for flyers, social media and certificates. You fill in your own logo and the app directly generates professional material.
With the enrollment widget you add an enrollment form to your own website. Parents enter their child's name, date of birth and email, and the child appears on your waiting list in the app automatically. The widget takes on your logo and colors automatically.
As soon as a parent or instructor unsubscribes a child, a spot becomes available. Via swipe gestures in the group overview, you can directly book catch-up lessons or move students to another group.
Yes. You can link multiple instructors per swim school; they can take over, change or unsubscribe each other's groups, ideal for illness or replacement. For a team of multiple instructors, choose the School subscription.
As an instructor, you can be linked to multiple swim schools. In your profile, you can easily switch between your active schools to manage the right groups.
Yes. With Swimmigo you set up lesson packages and subscriptions, share a payment link or let parents pay directly in the app. You see the payment status per student: paid, active subscription or arrears.
Payments are processed via your school's payment environment (Stripe). Swimmigo charges a commission per payment. You'll see the exact costs in the app when you set up the payment option. You decide whether to enable it.
A chargeback happens when a parent disputes a payment through their bank or card issuer. Stripe handles this. The risk lies with the swim school; in a chargeback, the amount is refunded minus Swimmigo's commission.
No, not at all. You can use Swimmigo perfectly as a student tracking system and to connect children, without enabling payments. The payment option is an extra service you turn on or off yourself.
You can cancel at any time via your App Store or Google Play account settings. You keep access until the end of your paid period.
You don't need the email. Manage your Swimmigo subscription and cancellation directly in the app or through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Yes. You will receive an email confirmation when your Swimmigo subscription starts and when you cancel it.
As a swim school, you are legally responsible for your students' data and the payment relationship with your customers. Swimmigo processes that data on your instructions, as a processor. To record this relationship properly and comply with privacy law, we ask you to accept the data processing agreement and the school terms. This always makes clear who is responsible for what.
When you delete your school, you formally stop using Swimmigo. You get 30 days to export your data. After that we delete the school data we processed on your instructions, permanently and automatically. The children's progress remains in the parent's account. Within those 30 days you can still undo the deletion.
You, as the swim school, are the data controller for the student and lesson data and for the payment relationship with your customers. Swimmigo processes that data as a processor, on your instructions. Stripe is the payment provider that processes the payments. Swimmigo never receives or stores card or bank details.
Open the group, tap a student and choose Move for right away, or Schedule a move for a later date. With a planned move, the parent first confirms the new time. On the chosen date it happens automatically.
Go to Groups and switch to Roster. Each group shows a bar: green is room, orange is almost full, red is full. Look ahead with the period selector. A group can never exceed its maximum.
Yes. You can build your own learning system: your own levels, exercises and order, in your own language. When a parent links to your school, they automatically get your exercises in the app.
No. You pay one fixed subscription, regardless of how many students you link or how many locations you teach at. No extra costs per student or per location.
New swimmers sign up directly through open spots, or join the waiting list until space opens up. That way you fill groups without manual lists.
Yes. Set your own colors and upload your logo. That way the app and the marketing toolkit look like your school.
No. The whole system lives in the app: progress, attendance, scheduling, payments and messages. You work from your phone or tablet at the poolside, without a computer or separate registration system.
